Nuclear is Clean Energy (NiCE) Club Cal Poly is born! On January 25, 2024 a group of Cal Poly SLO students joined together and committed to creating Cal Poly’s first ever nuclear technology club. Living in a U.S. state that is so opposed to such technology we hope to educated those in and outside of our community about the safety, benefits, and sustainability of nuclear power.

We elected Andrew W. as our president, Maya White as the vice president, and Olivia T. as our treasurer. We know they will do great things for this club and our community, and they have a strong system of supporting officers to help them as they guide.

We are all looking forward to what this club will do, and excited to see the impact we will make. Nuclear is clean energy and can provide a bright future (both metaphorically and literally as it powers our homes!). Go to the “Who We Are” page on our website to read more on our mission and values.

Hi, Thanks for Reading!

My name is Sierra, I am the web designer and co-communications/publicity director for Cal Poly's NiCE Club.  I'm a chemistry major and plan to use my degree to work as a chemistry educator or in nuclear technology.  Growing up on the central coast I have known about Diablo Canyon and nuclear power my whole life.  I am so excited to be an advocate for plants like Diablo and clean energy as a whole. More posts and information are yet to come!
